Congratulations to our Senior Girls Football team for their victory in a hard fought final at Moorefield against close neighbours Kilshanroe. Well done girls, Enjoy the memories !!!

Congratulations and commiserations to the eight lads, Sean, Conor, Ian, Ryan, Luke, Oisin, Ultan and Stewart from sixth class who were just pipped to the post as regards representing their county in Leinster Finals. They won 3 out of 4 in style and did the school, and their coaches over the years, proud. If I say so myself – I was entertained to some seriously good soccer skills over the course of their participation. Well done !!!

Five o’clock in the morning and forty sleeping children in the land of nod. We eventually got them to settle down around 2.30. I can only envy them their energy and stamina. Thanks to Paddy Kennedy and Bridget’s Kitchen for supplying the nourishment that kept them all active for a further three hours ! Thanks of course to the teachers for supervising and providing the entertainment and care and thanks to you parents for supporting our fundraising effort. We hope you had an enjoyable ‘carefree’ evening.

Great credit is due to all the children who ran so well in the recent running competition. You did super coming First in 6 out of 10 races and Second in 3 others. Well done all !!

First a big Thank You to all who participated in the ‘Run a Muck’ fundraiser, the recent Cake Sale and the numerous Blitz Competitions in which the children participated.
In the ‘Links’ section – over, I am including a link to a survey, part of our School Self-Evaluation Process, which we hope will give us valuable information on how we are doing with, and how we might improve on, our Maths programme. It is rather long but very easy to answer and your feedback would be much appreciated. I shall be leaving the Link live until Fri 17th April. Please take the time to complete the survey.

I have posted the Parents Association’s Last Newsletter in the Pages section. Apologies as I have not yet learned if it is possible to link it as it was printed. There is also a useful link to an Anaphylaxis site for those seeking further information.

Thanks to all those who responded to our survey. We will do our best to take your points on board in revising this critically important area. Have a very enjoyable mid-term break !

In the Links section there is a link to a survey designed to give the school an accurate picture of what you parents think of its endeavours in the area of Literacy/Oracy. We would like to know how you feel the teaching of Reading , Writing and Oracy is progressing and wheither you have any thoughts on how this might be improved.
The link will remain active until Friday 14th Feb when it shall be taken down. We are encouraging every parent to have a go at filling it out and submitting it back to us. All replies are confidential so please let us know what you think. If any parent wishes they can arrange to call to the school to access the survey through one of our computers.
